Every year on this day I give thanks to my father and grandfather who served their country in Vietnam and World War II, respectively. My first cousins and I are the first generation in recent history not to be called to service (or, in some cases, allowed to serve), so we thank our parents and grandparents on our behalf.
With the greatest admiration and respect, the grateful thanks and humble awe of a loving son.
For all veterans, in war and peace, remember them and thank them today.
